Editorial Director Nicole Brebner is proud to lead a team of talented editors publishing a broad range of fiction. Nicole believes that fiction should entertain and enlighten and aims to offer something for everyone on the MIRA list. Nicole’s love of books comes from her father who taught her to read before she started school and who always encouraged her very active imagination—her first (albeit imaginary) friend was Mowgli from The Jungle Book. To have a successful career in publishing is a dream come true and Nicole loves working with authors to bring their stories to a wide audience. Nicole works with a range of New York Times bestselling authors including Robyn Carr, Jacquelyn Mitchard, JT Ellison, Heather Graham, Brenda Novak, Karen Robards and Jude Deveraux, as well as many exciting new voices in fiction. Nicole is actively seeking issue-driven women’s fiction, psychological suspense, historical fiction and quirky feel-good fiction.

April Osborn (She/Her)

Senior Editor April Osborn is a California native who joined MIRA in 2018. She earned a Master’s Degree in Publishing from NYU in 2011, and has since had the opportunity to work with bestselling and award-winning authors in genres ranging from true crime and biography to women’s fiction and psychological suspense. At MIRA, she enjoys editing richly layered historical fiction, character-driven thrillers and suspense featuring complex relationship dynamics, big family rom-coms with lots of heart, and high concept book club fiction. She loves books that feature strong female protagonists and propulsive plots balanced with compelling characters, and she’s always looking for underrepresented voices to champion across genres.

Meredith Clark (She/Her)

Senior Editor Meredith Clark recently joined MIRA in 2022. She began her career in academic publishing before moving on to work in trade nonfiction, and is excited to now be at a fiction-focused imprint. An avid reader and book lover, she tends to read literary fiction, the classics, and the latest debut authors whenever she has the time. Meredith is actively seeking conceptual upmarket fiction, affecting feel-good fiction, and the next book club picks, in addition to historical fiction, mysteries, and general fiction, particularly from diverse and underrepresented voices and first-time authors.

Dina Davis (She/Her)

Associate Editor Dina Davis loves a great adventure—whether in real life or in fiction. When she’s not traveling around the world, exploring the outdoors or researching interesting new restaurants, you can often find her reading. She’s thrilled to be acquiring commercial and upmarket fiction across genres for MIRA Books, and she’s particularly interested in stories written by authors from marginalized communities. Dina’s tastes range from dark psychological thrillers, suspense and horror to lighthearted fiction that really makes her laugh. And if you have historical fiction with unique settings and untold stories or book club fiction featuring strong female characters, send it her way. Leah Mol (She/Her)

Assistant Editor Leah Mol has loved books since before she could read—she used to make her own amateur audiobooks (starring her mom, of course) so she could listen back and memorize the stories. Now she’s thrilled to help authors along their publishing journey. She’s eager to work with debut and early-career novelists, and she’s especially interested in queer stories across all genres. Always drawn to character-driven fiction, Leah’s looking to acquire millennial coming-of-age stories, suspense with a feminist bent, contemporary women’s fiction, and speculative novels grounded in the real world. She loves insular settings, relationships between women, unreliable or flawed characters, dark humor, and books that blur the idea of what’s real and what’s not. When she’s not wearing her editor hat, she’s also a debut novelist and award-winning short story writer.

Evan Yeong (He/Him)

Editorial Assistant Evan Yeong was taught to read by his mother at age four; little did he know that a steady diet of Asterix & Obelix would one day lead him to publishing. Born in Toronto, he’s back to calling it home after a childhood spent across Southeast Asia. A long-time lover of genre fiction, his career has helped him to discover just how much he enjoys both gripping romance and women’s fiction that stays with you long after you’ve put it down. Outside of those categories he’s also excited to work on historical fiction with a fresh perspective and anything with a comedic voice. Evan is always on the lookout for stories from authors who reflect the diversity he sees every time he walks out his front door, particularly members of the BIPOC and queer community.
